At this year’s AGCO supplier day in March, the German based company Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW) was awarded the „Supplier of the Year“ prize in the category of Quality.
With focus on solutions for connectivity and data management STW will exhibit at the 2nd Connected Off-Highway Conference in Duesseldorf, organized by the VDI.
More than 100 interested experts met for the 16th MobilTron seminar in Mannheim on February 1st and 2nd to explore in depth the „Intelligent working machine“.
With the F02, Sensor-Technik Wiedemann GmbH (STW) presents a pressure transmitter which has been developed according to the requirements laid down in the standards EN 13849-1 and IEC 61508, and which has been certified by TÜV Saar. In combination with a suitable control unit, the F02 has Performance Level d (PLd) and Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL2). One special feature of the F02 is its compact construction with a wrench size of 22mm and a total length of approx. 50mm. It is suitable for a pressure range of 10 to 1000 bar and has 2 inverted 4-20mA outputs which ensure that not only the signal itself can be monitored, but also the transmission path from the transmitter to the control unit. The two output signals must be monitored and evaluated by a corresponding control unit (e.g. the ESX-3XL). The F02 has been specially developed for use in mobile machines and has an E1 approval.
From November 22 to 24 Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW) presents systems and solutions for the mobile working machine during the SPS/IPC/Drives in Nuremberg. The fields of automation, elektrification and connectivity merge continuously and are complemented by environment sensing on the machine and IoT offerings in the back office area.
Already for the sixth time Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW), the specialist for the automation, connectivity and electrification of mobile working machines, will be at the bauma China in Shanghai from November 22 to 25. Fort he Chinese construction machinery market focus will be on the proven ESX control units, new displays and telemetry modules.

On September 1, 2016, 15 young people started their careers at Sensor-Technik Wiedemann GmbH (STW) and Kaufbeurer Mikrosysteme Wiedemann GmbH (KMW). In the next two to three years, they will be trained as electronic technicians for devices and systems, industrial clerks, mechatronics engineers, micro technologists, system integration specialists and warehouse logistics specialists.
At the end of June, the Kaufbeuren-based company Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW) was awarded for its force of innovation by BOMAG, the international market leaders in the compaction technology sector, at the Ehrenburg near Brodenbach. For over 20 years now, STW has supplied control units, I/O modules, sensors and operating and display elements in a mixture of standard products and customer-specific systems to BOMAG. In particular the readiness of STW to always strike out on new paths in the development and adaptation of the products has convinced BOMAG. STW was also able to reliably implement the appropriate requirements on the robustness of the solutions. STW received the award for the collaborative development of the “Economizer”. The “Economizer” is a display unit for compaction conditions which links and assesses the sensor data using specially-developed algorithms. The most recent orientation of STW regarding the support of data management and connectivity with innovative on-board modules and associated cloud services has also impressed the company. Along with the A-supplier of the Year 2016 certificate, the Innovation Award was handed over to Sonja Wiedemann, Managing Director of STW, and Sales Manager Klaus Gnahm, by Timo Löw, Head of Electrical Engineering, Jens Gick, Manager Global Purchasing, and Oliver Michel, Commodity Manager Electricals.

From April 25 to 29 Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW) will present its new battery management system (BMS) for all popular Lithium-Ion technologies at booth C16 of “Bayern Innovativ” in hall 13 at the “Hannover Messe Industrie”. Along with it a first member of a new battery product family by ElringKlinger for stationary accumulator systems, forklifts, electrified road and commercial vehicles, but also for maritime applications or e-scooters and of course mobile working machines will be introduced.
