As part of the "MobiliTec" show, Sensor-Technik Wiedemann GmbH (STW) is presenting a pioneering electric drive for commercial vehicles, buses and mobile machinery.
STW’s permanent magnet synchronous machine powerMELA C, with 140 kW continuous power, is combined with a three-speed dual-clutch transmission to meet a wide range of drive requirements. The combination drive is lightweight, uniquely compact and operates in all modes at the optimal efficiency, with high starting torque and top end speed. Shifting without interruption of traction fits well to the characteristics of the electric drive, and enhances the driving performance and comfort. The drive solution has been realised by STW in cooperation with the Canadian transmission specialists Kinetic Drive Solutions, and has already proven itself in practice.
