STW to showcase solutions for automated mobile machines at iVT Expo Chicago

At iVT Expo Chicago 2026, STW will present its portfolio for highly automated and connected machines. The company’s exhibit will focus on solutions for agricultural, forestry, construction, municipal, and specialty vehicles, helping OEMs implement automation, connectivity, and cloud integration within one seamless system approach.

A key highlight of STW’s presence at the show is HPX.ai-vision. Developed for demanding automation applications in mobile machines, the platform processes sensor data from multiple sources in parallel. In addition to camera inputs, LIDAR data can also be integrated. With its high computing power and built-in AI capabilities, the system enables environment perception solutions that can reliably detect objects and people while also meeting functional safety requirements. This gives developers a compact platform for building powerful automation solutions.

Designed specifically for mobile use, HPX.ai-vision combines high performance with a rugged design. Despite its advanced hardware architecture featuring a quad-core CPU, FPGA, and AI accelerator, the system requires no active cooling and is engineered for challenging operating environments. Linux support and a suitable development environment also make it easier to integrate into customized machine concepts.

To demonstrate how these components work together, STW will present a transparent exhibit in Chicago. In this setup, HPX.ai-vision handles AI-supported processing of environmental data from multiple cameras as well as an additional integrated LIDAR sensor.

STW will also demonstrate how machine data can be integrated into cloud environments using the TCG.nano connectivity module. Combined with the STW Basic IoT Bundle, data can be provided in a standardized format and used for applications such as visualization, analytics, and integration into other digital systems. This setup also supports efficient over-the-air updates.

By combining automation, sensing, control, connectivity, and cloud services, STW is addressing manufacturers looking to prepare their machines for future requirements while integrating additional functions in a cost-effective way.

STW will be exhibiting at iVT Expo Chicago on August 19 & 20, 2026, in Hall F, stand #650 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, USA.

In addition to STW’s presence at the show, Tobias Moll, Solution Engineer at Sensor-Technik Wiedemann GmbH, will speak on August 20, 2026, from 12:00 to 12:20 pm in Room 13 on the topic “Hands-on experience from safety assistance to automated driving.”

The presentation will highlight practical experience from customer projects and discussions with OEMs and will show how future-proof electronics and software architectures can be designed for both operator-driven and autonomous machines. It will also address the impact of connectivity and security on system design, as well as the development of vision-based functions and assistance systems for assisted and autonomous driving.
