The Kaufbeuren company Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW) was recently honored with the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award from one of the world’s leading tractor manufacturers, AGCO/Fendt of Marktoberdorf. With this award, AGCO/Fendt pays tribute to STW’s many years of development work in technology associated with drive control, telemetry and hybrid electric drives. The head of Fendt research and development, Dr. Herbert Reiter, characterized the award as recognition of a continuing close and trusted partnership over many years. The company was first launched by Wolfgang and Katherine Wiedemann in rented rooms and is today a family business with several hundred employees, distinguished by a highly motivated, flexible and professional workforce. The two firms have been working together since 1989.
STW develops, manufactures and markets products in measurement and control technology. It employs over 440 workers, including 46 apprentices. The company specializes on control systems for mobile machinery and work vehicles, sensors for extreme operating conditions, cylinder pressure measurement in combustion engines, and pioneering concepts for hybrid drives and fuel cells. All products are developed for robust ‘off-highway’ operating conditions.
